2008 Driver's fast laps

Massa may have been the best qualifier in 2008 but Raikkonen has shown his speed during the race, recording 10 fastest laps, and averaged 0.269 seconds faster than Felipe. For the second year in a row Kimi Raikkonen takes DHL's fastest lap award, Congratulations Kimi !!!

Welcome FRIENDS !!!

Welcome Friends:

I'd like to start by thanking all of the 650 Million fans and friends around the world who have followed Formula 1. I hope my blog will bring you even closer to the pinnacle of motor sport and that my unique stats will enrich your knowledge in Grand Prix racing.

The statistics, I have calculated myself, give F1 enthusiasts, as well as F1 authorities, a detailed outline of the racers’ and teams’ performances, similar to other popular sports, like football (soccer), basketball, or even golf.

Today F1 fans alike follow their favorite team/s and or driver/s by how many points they’ve made in the championship, pole positions and fastest laps in the race. However to really know how well each racer is doing, you need results that rank the drivers’ performance in a “pecking” order.

Many have their opinion on who is the best… My stats will display clearly who has performed better. Take for example last season. We all know that Lewis Hamilton has become the 08’ World Champion and Kimi Raikkonen has won the DHL fastest lap award for the second time! There’s no doubt he deserves this recognition and I personally congratulate them for their undeterred teamwork. Job very well done guys !

However, if you consider qualifying times, he wasn’t actually the fastest driver. I believe that a racer’s speed should be evaluated constantly in every race, not only where they shined. This is just like the championship where points are rewarded in every race.

I’ve also broaden the FIA’s points system to include the top 10 finishers. This practically includes ALL the drivers in the championship. For example Raikkonen & Kubica tied at 75 points in 08’ and Fisichella & Sutil tied with no points. My point system unties and includes them in the final standings. I’ve also respected FIA’s difference in each final position, for example, 1st = 10pts, which is worth the same as two Fourth places (5pts. + 5pts.)

I hope this has been understood and well received by most of you. Any constructive criticism that would help this site be more informative is welcomed. LET THE 2009 SESON BEGIN !!!
